stained glassPerspective and Approach

People in mainline congregations across the country seem to be engaged in discussions about "whether the church must change," how to facilitate change, and how to manage change.

Denominational and other publishing houses offer books, videos, and study guides on the process to help move congregations ahead of the curve, and publish guides so church leaders can help the change process in the communities they serve.

We at CommunityNexus Consulting begin with the fact that the world has changed, and those churches that are committed to transformational ministries in today's world should have already changed. We stand ready to work side by side with church leadership in designing and implementing a campaign or a program that is supportive of your transformational ministries.

We remember one gentleman, well into his eighties, and a man who valued pragmatism, developed during years as an engineer, who once said, "I don't think these mission studies ever changed anything. After we hire a new pastor we never hear about the reports again, until we have to hire another pastor. And I don't know if they helped much in our decisions about new pastors, either. We in the church need to learn how to think differently."

That is how we approach our work with churches and with religious organizations who share a deeply felt mission. In each circumstance where we get involved with you, we care about God's call to this congregation and its responsiveness. But as outside consultants we will not prescribe how your congregation's future might be shaped. We are very cautious about any role that misplaces authority to the "experts" who know neither the history nor the voice of the Holy Spirit in a particular context.

CommunityNexus Consulting values each opportunity that comes our way to work with congregations and the Board of a religious organization that wants to make an impact in its community. "Business as usual" will not cut it. There is a new world out there; our challenge is to recover a sense of discipleship and stewardship that will mobilize the financial resources available to you as we work together in spiritual support and discipline.
