Alice Haddix is a capable, proven administrator in the nonprofit sector with a 20-year consulting practice based on experience in higher education, library consortia, human services, arts organizations, and government agencies. Among her special skills are project design and proposal development.

In management roles, Haddix was a member of the team negotiating a hospital merger while serving in the Office of the Vice President for Hospitals and Clinics at the University of Chicago. There she also composed and edited budget and policy statements, and monitored staff projects in the Vice President’s office. She served as the founding executive officer for the statewide Library Computer Systems at the University of Illinois, establishing the resource sharing and delivery system for some 30 libraries in public and private institutions of higher education.

Previously, as Special Assistant to the Executive Vice President at the University of Illinois, she edited the research of the Committee to Study Consolidation of the UI-Chicago campuses. She also served as Chief of the Application Review Unit for the Illinois Law Enforcement Commission. In consulting roles, Haddix has designed successful grant applications and projects that range from $30,000 to $1.5 million.

She has produced and designed image publications for student recruitment, capital campaigns, economic development, teacher education, and a variety of other purposes. She has also written, edited, and produced documentation for successful institutional accreditation, policy studies and academic research grants.

Haddix has a range of skills valuable in the nonprofit world, having completed projects involving organizational development, Board development, technical writing, institutional self-study, strategic planning, campaign case statements, and annual reports. She is conversant with the details of communication in the worlds of fine arts education, health delivery systems, health sciences education, and government grant management.

Her clients have included the Arizona Health Information Network, the Consortium for International Development-Tucson, the Educational Enrichment Foundation, MiracleNet (Rochester, NY), Oakland Community College (Michigan), the Tucson Jazz Society, the College of Medicine at the University of South Florida (Tampa), the Child Life Center at the University Medical Center (Tucson), the Planning Office at the University of Illinois-Chicago, and the Welch Medical Library at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore.

Haddix holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Chicago, and a Master of Arts in English Literature from Stanford University. She also holds certificates from the Institute for Women in Higher Education Administration - HERS Mid-America, and from the Western Association of College & University Business Officers. She resides in Silver Spring, MD.
